TRAIL SYSTEM CHANGES

This trail system is changing starting in April 2022.

In preparation for the development of The Pinnacle at Sunset Ridge, the trail system is changing. The current trail system is located on private property and has been informally used by residents.  Sunset Properties Inc. is working with Bike Cochrane and the Town of Cochrane to create a formalized trail system that will realign some trails as well as create new trails to provide better connectivity, safety, and sustainability for residents to enjoy for years to come.  Along with the trail work, additional lookout points and interpretive signage will be added.  To facilitate the realignment of the trail network, trails will temporarily be closed in the area.  Check the website here for updates and additional information, or sign up to our construction notification email list.

We are in the process of developing our new community, The Pinnacle Estates at Sunset Ridge. The lotting of this community overlaps with the current trail system, and so we need to reroute the trail network to go around the edge of this new community.

Some trails are being removed, but new trails are being developed to replace them. These new trails will link around the new community and preserve the connectedness of this current trail system.

Yes, there will be some noise in the community associated with the ongoing construction. There is some drilling that is necessary for the completion of our development. Residents will be given advance warning as to when the drilling will take place, and we are doing our best to notify residents. We apologize in advance for any disruptions.

Yes, we are working in consultation with Bike Cochrane, a local bike group, to ensure that the trails systems will be preserved. We’re working hard to ensure that the natural area will not be disrupted. The trail system will also be an amenity for the future residents of The Pinnacle Estates. It is our goal to reconstruct the trail system for all to enjoy.

The Pinnacle Estates is a new estate community within the greater community of Sunset Ridge. This community is currently in development. For more information, please visit our community homepage.

Melcor Developments is working in consultation with Bike Cochrane in the reconstruction of these bike trails.
